With the holiday season already knocking on our doors, you’d think titles like Battlefield 2042 and the latest Call of Duty: Vanguard would be stealing the numbers for the most number of players. When it comes to Steam, it appears as if Farming Simulator 22 is holding its own against these online shooters, despite being a casual simulation game.

There could be a valid reason for Battlefield 2042 not performing as well on Steam as Farming Simulator 22. Many gamers have complained about excessive bullet spread, while others aren’t happy with the XP farming locations. There are also many players mentioning some missing features.

And Farming Simulator 22? Well, SteamDB tweeted a screenshot two days ago showcasing how well it’s doing in comparison to BF2042. The numbers are staggering for how many gamers were active at that time, while the all-time peak for FS22 was more for fewer days.

One aspect to keep in mind is that EA has its own gaming client where you can download BF2042, while you can also access it from the Xbox Games Pass for Windows. While we don’t have enough figures to really compare, it’s still outstanding how well Farming Simulator 22 is doing on Steam.

It’s not surprising to us, though. We’ve been fans of the Farming Simulator franchise for several years while staying up to date with the DLCs and mods. There may not be any intense action, but we love the strategy aspects and developing the land. We’re not the only ones that love it, as the US and UK stated it as one of the “’Top Paid Games” after it was released on Nov 22, 2021.

If you are curious and want to know more about this game, we recommend you read our extensive guide on how to play Farming Simulator 22. Let us know if you plan on joining in on the action.
